MONDAY is an award-winning, modern haircare brand making luxury more inclusive. Our quality Shampoo and Conditioner formulations are free from SLS, parabens and animal testing—and don’t cost the earth. Our beloved pink bottles are also 100% recyclable and made using recycled plastic.
“Exclusivity” used to be a big buzz word in beauty. But we didn’t want that. MONDAY is all about making luxury more inclusive, which is why we make our products widely available at an affordable price point. We don’t believe you should have to pay more for bottles that look good in your shower, or for products that uphold values like being cruelty-free, 100% recyclable and free from SLS and parabens.
We believe good hair should be an everyday thing, and not just saved for special occasions (or Zoom job interviews). Monday is typically the day when you set fresh intentions and have the whole week stretched out ahead of you. We loved that optimism for MONDAY.
MONDAY Haircare was conceptualised and founded by beauty-obsessed entrepreneur Jaimee Lupton. Jaimee was inspired to create a range of products that provide the benefits of salon-quality formulations, but at supermarket prices. Since launching MONDAY in early 2020 she has been named an Under-30 Achiever of the Year and a Beauty Entrepreneur of the Year—and MONDAY has won several major beauty awards.
In Canada, you can buy MONDAY Haircare online and in-store via one of several major retailers including Loblaws, Shoppers Drug Mart and Walmart. Head to our Canadian Stockists page for more information and to buy MONDAY in Canada.
MONDAY is currently available in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom (including England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland), Ireland, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, Mongolia, Germany and Poland.

PRODUCTS AND RANGE
VOLUME gives a thorough clean to all hair types, but is especially good at ridding oil, dirt and build-up from hair that becomes overly oily or weighed down by product. If you have oily roots, focus your Shampoo there and only apply Conditioner to your lengths and ends.
If you have dry or dull hair, MOISTURE is the one for you. It contains hydrating naturals such as Hydrolyzed Rice Protein, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter, Vitamin E and Provitamin B5.
On coily hair we’d recommend using MOISTURE, which contains Shea Butter and Coconut Oil: ingredients that are important for keeping coiled hair follicles hydrated and soft. MOISTURE has been formulated using Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (SCI): a cleanser known to work well with curly and coily textured hair, and be more gentle on scalps than other, sulphate-based cleansers. MONDAY Shampoos and Conditioners importantly also don’t contain SLS or parabens, which can be detrimental to coily hair.
In a round of consumer testing we performed in 2021, the highest overall ratings came from those with 4B Coils and Type 3 Curls, and out of all other hair types, our products are actually most beloved by people with Afro-textured hair.
INGREDIENTS AND FORMULAS
Always refer to the product packaging (i.e. the back of your bottle) for the most accurate list of ingredients.
For your information, we do include ingredient listings on each of our Product pages which you can click through to from the Our Range landing page. Find the line you’re interested in, then drop down to the Shampoo and/or Conditioner ingredient listings. Please note that while we strive to keep these ingredient lists as accurate as possible, slight improvements to formulas over time mean they can vary depending on market and/or retailer. All ingredient information listed on this website should be used as a guide only.
If you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients included in our products, you should refrain from using them. If you’re unsure, contact your physician or health care professional for clarification. The back of our bottles will always have the most accurate information printed for that product, but you can also use the ingredients listed under each product in Our Range as a guide. If you need a hand deciphering our ingredient list or want to double-check if our formulations include a specific ingredient, feel free to reach out to us.
As with any cosmetic product, if you experience a reaction after using one of our products, please discontinue use immediately. If you have a concern, please reach out to our team via the Contact Us page.
SLS stands for Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, and is a cleansing surfactant (meaning it attaches to and removes oil-based dirt) commonly used in shampoos, cleansers and even toothpaste. SLS and other surfactants are what give products that foaming, lathering effect and leave a super-clean feeling. However, SLS can be quite drying, and many people find it harsh on their hair and skin. As such, we use more gentle cleansers such as the coconut-derived Sodium Olefin Sulfonate and Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, which still give a lather without that same harshness.
Parabens are a type of preservative commonly used in cosmetics to help stabilise a formula and prevent things like mould and bacteria developing in the bottle. Cosmetics such as shampoo and conditioner do need some form of preserving ingredient, but many people find Parabens to be harsh, so we look to alternatives such as Phenoxyethanol: an effective and very stable antimicrobial.
Yes, they sure are! None of our Shampoos or Conditioners contain gluten, and as such are considered gluten-free.
Our formulas contain a gentle fragrance based on gardenia. They also contain some ingredients that are lightly scented by their nature, such as ginger extract.
SAFETY AND EFFICACY
Yes, MONDAY Haircare’s products are dermatologically tested! And with a PH level of 5, our Shampoo and Conditioner formulas are also PH-balanced.
The PH level of our Shampoos and Conditioners is 5.
We have tested our formulas with many Keratin treatments, and found them to be safe to use together. However we do always recommend consulting your haircare professional to ensure that MONDAY (and any other products you’re using) are suitable for the particular Keratin treatment being used on your hair.
Yes! We’ve received really great feedback from people with colour-treated hair about MONDAY. We recommend our GENTLE range for treated hair that needs a little extra TLC.
Unfortunately MONDAY isn’t formulated especially for sensitive or irritated skin or scalp, so we’re not able to recommend any of our lines for those skin types. We’d recommend looking for products that are specially formulated for sensitive and/or irritated skin, if you’re not already.
Unfortunately MONDAY Shampoos and Conditioners aren’t formulated for those experiencing dandruff. We’d recommend looking for products that are specially formulated to relieve dry scalp and/or dandruff, if you’re not already.
While our products have been dermatologically tested on adults and shown to be safe, we don’t test them on children and babies, which technically means we can’t recommend it. As with anything, their skin and hair can respond differently, and their tolerance to certain ingredients is lower—so it’s always best to err on the side of caution and instead use products that are specially formulated for infants.
Everyone’s needs during pregnancy are different, and we recommend consulting your healthcare professional about the cosmetic and haircare products that are best for you during this time.

Yes, MONDAY bottles are fully recyclable! All our bottles are made from 100% recyclable HDPE plastic and our pumps are made from 100% recyclable plastic, which means you can add them to your regular plastic recycling bins and they shouldn’t end up in landfill. (Be sure to wash them out with you in the shower first!) Our bottles also contain 20% post-consumer recycled plastic.
Our Shampoo and Conditioner Refill Pouches are in the works—watch this space!
We’re certainly not trying to rob you of liquid gold, we promise! Our bottles contain the volume of Shampoo or Conditioner that’s printed on the front of the bottle (depending on which size you purchased). It’s actually that the bottle is a little bigger, as excess space is needed during production to ensure there’s no overflow when the pump is inserted.
Our products are made using best-in-class ingredients and manufacturing facilities in China, in compliance with all regulations in the 14 countries they’re sold in (including the United States, United Kingdom and Europe). Our manufacturing partner holds BRC, SEDEX and ISO4001 certifications, which are global frameworks ensuring ethical standards and integrity across product safety, quality and worker conditions, among other things.
